Little Block Machines

The Little Block Machines are 12 x blocks in 12 x colour themes arranged in infinite ways. The outputs are reduced revelations of randomness and rules in algorithmic systems.

The work explores screen resize as a tactile way of interacting with a digital artwork. By resizing the window, the viewer actively engages with the little block machine’s algorithmic systems, which recalculate and rearrange in response. The digital medium has a friction.
